Mario Romao

Mario Romao works at Intel’s Business and Technical Affairs team. Mario oversees global digital health policy and coordinates Intel’s Artificial Intelligence policy interactions with the European Union. Mario works with governments on policies to promote the adoption of health information technologies to address some of the current challenges healthcare systems are facing. Mario has extensive experience working with digital health policies and technologies. He was involved in the deployment of European initiatives in the field of health care technologies and solutions for people with special needs, including a focus on the elderly population. Mario also coordinates Intel’s public policy engagements in the EU on Artificial Intelligence, looking at policy and regulatory options for the trusted adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Europe, including in the healthcare sector. He participates actively in numerous groups and associations promoting the advancement of digital technologies across Europe.
